About Athena
Athena was founded in April 2020 by Prof. Dr. Melania Anna Duca, Biopsychoanalysis (Biocentric Psychoanalysis)® pioneer, who discovered a way to integrate physics, mind sciences and psychotherapy.
The biopsychoanalytic model was born from the researches conducted by Dr. Duca and her team who believed in the application of Biocentrism to clinical practice and worked toward creating innovative therapeutic protocols.
Our clients access our services online via
an
interactive video platform encrypted to guarantee their
privacy and confidentiality.
Dr. Duca will accept clients according to the availability of slots in her schedule. Clients can choose to undergo therapy directly with Dr. Duca or purchase a discounted service and work with the IBPI® trainees and associates.
We are currently the only practice in Northern Ireland able to provide a wide range of different approaches to therapy and more practitioners to choose between, at the most competitive prices. We recently opened our first overseas Division in Italy.

Everything has a beginning...
On the 26th of December 2016 I left mainland Europe for the first time, driving my car onto a ferry from France to England. The next day I would do the same from Liverpool to Belfast.
I was moving to Northern Ireland from Italy, my birth country, full of hopes and dreams for the future.
Did I find what I was looking for eventually?
I found much more!
I found a purpose; and I realised myself, as a fully accomplished individual.
Truth is, we need to believe; even when it seems there is no hope left. We need to believe in ourselves being able to shape our own future, whatever this means.
Mind functioning has always been my passion, and a certain taste for adventure has never left me since I was a kid playing in the fields of my grandfather’s farm. Curiosity has driven all my most successful projects. I never stopped looking for answers. Just like a speleologist with a fascinating underground cavern, or the explorers of the space and deep sea, the mind pioneers aim to discover potentially valuable new knowledge to help people struggling with mental illness.
In these years, I understood that no long-term happiness can ever be achieved without changing the way people think from the core of their reasoning, and this has nothing to do with the surface represented by their behaviour.
People are not their actions; and at the same time, there is always a reason why they do what they do.
Here it comes Athena: Greek warrior queen and goddess of wisdom who carried the aegis, Zeus’ magical shield, which is represented in our logo.

Athena Limited was incorporated during the
COVID-19 pandemic to supply innovative, effective, and affordable mental health services to our private clients in Northern Ireland and abroad.
